Five simple changes to make 2017 great

  1. Start a ‘Thankful Diary’: Each day, note down three things that you’re thankful to have in your life. Review these when you’re down and you’ll realise that it isn’t all that bad.

  2. Find inspiration: Inspiration is everywhere - you just need to open your eyes to it. Take a walk or make a journey somewhere new and simply enjoy your surroundings.

  3. Do what you love: Whether it’s watching Netflix in bed, baking a cake or swimming in the ocean – make time for what you love. As we get older, we're often so busy that we let the things we truly love take a backseat to work and chores. It might not be possible every day, but allow yourself time out each month to enjoy these things.

  4. Be spontaneous: If you want that new top, buy it. If you fancy a night out with your friends, go for it. If you dream of a holiday to the Bahamas, book it.

  5. Switch off: These days, it’s easy to let time slip away while you check Facebook for the hundredth time, post an ‘urgent’ tweet or Instagram that hilarious photo of your cat. Social media isn’t everything though – remember to switch off from it sometimes.
